A coaching session with me (Carolyn) is a conversation of playful exploration. I will ask you lots of questions, but the topic we explore and the depth to which we go is your choice. Think of it like a driving lesson. As the client, you are always in driver’s seat, with the choice of where we go and at what speed. While I have lots of questions and suggestions, there are lots of possible right answers and, in my coaching, there are no wrong answers.

We will begin each session by discussing what you would like to explore today, and then I will ask questions, and sometimes teach you a strategy to help you to achieve the goal you set at the start of the session. I often give you homework between sessions, to put into practice what you have learned or to do some further thinking and/or writing about a topic we are exploring together.

Transformational coaching, at its heart, is a conversation between two people – a coach and a person who wants to overcome a frustration in life, or who wants to grow towards living into their full potential in life. 

Transformational coaching is a well-researched process of becoming aware of your attitudes and assumptions, getting curious and exploring what their impact might be on your experience of life and then creating small changes and developing healthy habits, which support your continued growth over time. 

Through coaching, you can discover that, by taking responsibility to make healthier choices, you can let go of things which block you from living your most satisfying and joyful life and live life with more compassion and freedom.

I offer both narrative coaching and neuro-coaching. I choose the most appropriate modality for you at each moment of each session. 

I believe that the choices you make in life flow from your personality, your experiences, your mindset and any blind spots which have developed along the way. 

My approach to coaching includes the assumption that you are already doing just fine, and that the answers you need are largely already within you. In coaching, I help you to explore your mindset, recognise and let go of any blind spots and gradually build healthy, nurturing habits so that you can be the best you that you can be. 

I do not offer psychological treatment or therapy. If you are seeking help with a mental illness, you should go to a qualified psychologist or psychiatrist.

I specialise in helping mid-life women to deal with stress, overwhelm and negative self-talk, so you can gain clarity and calm focus, get organised and move towards enjoying life as an exciting adventure. The topics we may cover are broad, and may also include personal challenges, relationships, wellness and spiritual life.

I offer both Christian retreats and secular retreats (no religious content). In both styles of retreat, I help people to slow down, get in touch with themselves – their body, their thoughts, their desires. Through story-telling, exploratory conversation, creative activities and times for personal reflection, you can play with a topic in a gentle way and gain clarity and direction. I have been facilitating exploratory conversations in groups since 2003. 

I usually offer retreats in Manly NSW. While the pandemic restricts gathering in person, I am running mini-retreats via zoom.
